 Workshop Descriptions: 

ChiRunning Essentials Workshop
The ChiRunning Essentials Workshop provides several hours of small group instruction.  It is appropriate for those new to ChiRunning as well as those who have been practicing on their own for any amount of time.   You will get lots of personal attention and enjoy a rich learning experience packed with good information to help you run injury-free for the rest of your life.

The workshop will be held both indoors and outdoors. So check the weather forecast and dress appropriately.

Tracy will be guiding you through many exercises and drills designed to leave you with a clear sense of what the ChiRunning technique feels like in your body. We will not be doing lots of running (contrary to what you might imagine), so no matter what condition you are in, have no fear. We will spend time alternating between demonstrations, fun exercises and technique drills…the nature of the day will be relaxed, full and inspiring.

The worshop will include the following:

• The Keys to Effortless, Injury-free Running

• The Physics of Running: Run without Using Your Legs

• ChiRunning® versus Power Running

• Introduction to the ChiRunning® Form (Posture, Lean, Heel Lift and Arm Swing)

• Injury prevention techniques

• Personal Check-in Tricks and Tools

• Core Muscle Drills and Exercises

• Pre-run Body Looseners, Post-run Stretches

• How to conserve energy at any speed

Tracy will also include a video-analysis of your running form, so we can identify what areas you can improve in using your new ChiRunning skills.

Each participant will also receive handouts of the material covered in class.

 ChiWalking Workshop

Class Format: This Chi Walking Basics comprehensive workshop is a great introduction to the Chi Walking technique. The Instructor will be guiding you through many exercises and drills designed to leave you with a clear sense of what the Chi Walking technique feels like in your body. We won’t be doing a lot of walking. The focus will be on building a solid base of knowledge that you will carry forward in your walking program.  You’ll get lots of personal attention and enjoy a rich learning experience packed with good information to help you walk in balance for the rest of your life.

CREATE BALANCE in your body and yourself with Chi Walking.  Chi Walking will teach you to move from your center, your core, and not use your legs to walk!! You’ll learn proper body alignment and movement techniques that will give you a powerful sense of balance and stability, as well as relaxation and spaciousness in your body and mind.

Here’s what you’ll get:

  • Introduction to the Chi Walking method
  • Injury-prevention techniques
  • Core muscle drills and exercises
  • Upper body and lower body usage
  • Personal check-in tricks and tools
  • Innovative technique drills
  • Pre-walk body looseners and post-walk stretches
